The Visions in Video Awards STBU! Challenge Round

Time for a challenge round here at VIVA! This challenge is called:  Sucks to be You!

What kind of vids are we looking for? Well, that's pretty self-explanatory, but just so that we're all on the same page let me explain. We want videos about a specific character and we want you to show us why it sucks to be him or her. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean the character dies - though they might - but rather it could be so many other reasons why it sucks to be them. Maybe one bad thing after another keeps happening to them - they never seem to ever have anything work out in their life. Maybe it's a guy whose girlfriend/wife/boyfriend - whatever - left him, then he has a car accident, then he loses his job, then a serial killer is stalking him, then his dog dies, then he gets told he has some incurable disease...get the picture?

We want to watch this video and as we're watching we can't help but say: "Wow! Sucks to be him or her!"

YOU, my wonderful fellow vidders, need to paint us a clear picture of why it sucks to be that character.

 

The rules are very simple:

1. You may submit up to two videos BUT, if you do submit two, each vid must be about a different character.

2. NO crossovers. This has to be about one specific character from any tv series or any movie.

To clarify - the video can only have scenes from eps of any one series (not just one episode- it can be any number of episodes as long as it's all the same tv series) or scenes from one movie or SET of movies (for example the Harry Potter series of films or the Spiderman series of films).

3. You can submit videos that you've submitted in previous rounds.

4. AU vids are fine.

5. Please be a dear and promote my challenge. It's not really required, but I'd sure appreciate it if you would. Here's a button for you, that you can use if you want to. Please link back to this page - or my VIVA home page.

 

Being that we're not sure how well this is, or isn't, going to go over, I'll keep this challenge until July 31st or until we receive somewhere between 10 - 30 vids, whichever comes first. Yeah, I know, big difference between ten and thirty, but I have no way to gauge if this challenge idea will take off or not - so if things go slow and it takes three weeks to get ten entries then I'll probably close it at ten. However, if it's an idea you guys like, and we end up getting 20 entries in a matter of a week or less, then I'll cap it at thirty - for fear of the judges having to duke it out as we try to decide and agree on which videos are the best. There will not be many awards given, so the decisions will be tough for us.
